Q. How much do pools cost?

A. Each project is unique due to a number of factors. The design and dimensions of your home, the shape and elevation details of your lot along with the setback and easement requirements of your development are all contributing factors. Finally, complexity of your design and construction play a major role in pricing. So, in reality, there are no “standard” pool packages or prices. This is why we need a survey of your property and need to come to your site to take measurements before giving you a price.

Q. How can I tell if a pool will fit in my yard?

A. Know your setback and easement requirements (a survey will help) along with any home owner’s association rules. Allow room for decking around the pool. If you have big parties or a large family and want to incorporate an outdoor kitchen, you will need to allow for an ample deck area.

Q. How long does it take to build a pool?

A. Complexity of design and construction are the major factors here. This will vary depending on the type of deck you choose and materials needed. If your pool is being constructed in conjunction with the construction of a new home, then our goal is to finish the pool in harmony with the completion of the home.

Q. Does the shape of the pool affect the price?

A. No, unless the pool is of extraordinary design. All pricing is done by lineal footage, square footage, etc. This means you can have virtually any shape at ordinary pricing.

Q. I want to buy a pool. What documents or paperwork do I need?

A. If your home is existing, you will need a current survey showing house footprint and lot lines. If your home is to be constructed yet, you will need blue prints of the house, a lot survey showing property lines and a proposed site plan. We can refer a surveyor to you if you need a current survey.

Q. How long has your company been in business?

A. Aquascapes Design, Inc was founded in May of 2001 and is a family owned and operated business. Please review our Qualifications page.

Q. Are screen enclosures required on swimming pools?

A. No, they do however afford broadened usage of the pool and deck area by keeping out most of the afternoon and evening bug population.

Q. What are the requirements for pool safety features i.e. alarms or fencing?

A. Florida Law states that we must protect access to the pool area from the home. This can be accomplished a number of ways through installation or combinations of State specified devices. These devices include alarms on windows and doors, baby barrier fences, safety covers and self closing and self latching doors. Our Design Consultant can help you choose what is right for you.

Q. What is the best piece of advice you can give me regarding the design and purchase of a new pool?

Explicit, educated communication will ultimately lead to the best design for you. Also research your contractor. Check out our Qualifications page to become more informed.
